About the author (2010)

Lori Mortensen is a multi-published children s author who writes fiction and nonfiction on all sorts of subjects. When she s not plunking away at the keyboard, she enjoys making cheesy bread rolls, gardening, and hanging out with her family at their home in northern California.

Cari Meister has written more than a hundred books for children, including the "Tiny" series (Penguin) and the "Meet the Monsters" series (Stone Arch Books). She has received many awards for her books. Most recently, "Airplane Adventure" (Stone Arch Books), was named to "Parents" magazine Best Books for 2010. Cari has been fascinated by the night sky ever since she can remember. Her love of space and stars led her to Space Camp when she was growing up. Today, Cari lives in the mountains of Colorado, with her husband, four boys, two horses and one dog.

Originally a student of political science, artist RemySimard began his career as an illustrator in 1980. Todayhe creates computer-generated illustrations for a largevariety of clients. He has also written and illustrated morethan 30 children's books in both French and English,including Monsieur Noir et Blanc, a finalist for Canada'sGovernor's Prize. To relax, Remy likes to race around onhis motorcycle. Remy resides in Montreal with his two sonsand a cat named Billy.
