About the author (1990)

Terry Kellogg has achieved a national reputation as a humorous, entertaining and insightful lecturer who speaks to each member of his audience. He has an M.A. in Human Development, is a family systems therapist, a consultant and trainer for agencies, hospitals, schools and corporations nationwide, and he has founded several mental health programs over the past 20 years.After graduating from St. John's University and completing graduate work at the University of Minnesota, Terry spent two years as a social worker, teacher and lay missionary in the British West Indies.Terry has been a pioneer in the areas of compulsive/addictive behaviors and family systems. He has worked extensively in the training and treatment of victims of physical, emotional and sexual abuse and in working with offenders. He began a diagnosis and recovery program for sexual addictions in 1977.In 1981 Terry originated LifeWorks™ programs. These clinics have been recognized nationwide as intensive healing programs for people with relationship problems, codependency and self-esteem issues, as well as for people who grew up in alcoholic or dysfunctional families. The workshops are held in several states across the country.Terry Kellogg is a faculty member of the Institute for Integral Development and the U. S. Journal Training. He is a Clinical Program Consultant for The Anacapa Hospital in Port Hueneme, California. He was featured in the John Bradshaw PBS series on the family, which were based on his original work. Terry is a board member of The National Association of Adult Children of Dysfunctional Families (NAACDF). In addition to more than 100 lecture appearances each year, Terry has appeared on Phil Donahue, Geraldo Rivera and other leading television programs on the family and addiction. Terry is the author of Broken Toys, Broken Dreams and Family Matters, as well as seven additional books, co-authoried with Marvel Harrison, Ph.D. His popular video and audio tapes cover a wide range of subjects, including co-dependency, sexuality, addictions, family roles and intimacy.
