This is a remarkable book containing the history and dogmatics of the early, medieval and later development of Orthodox Christianity. As a writer of essays on the same topic I have found this to be an exceptual tome on this subject that should be read by everyone who enters either in the role of a minister or clergyman of every Christian body. It is concise and extremely accurate in the presentation of this data presented by a true scholar in a manner that does not denigrate any particular body nor untruthfully or emphatically present that of his own birth faith. I would give it a five star rating in this review. Since the last printing was in 1982 by the Wayne State University Press, Detroit it should still be easily available.
