The poetry that I write comes from the heart and it also uplifts me as a person. I chose the title "Can You Relate?" because there are a lot of people who feel some of the emotions, situations and outlooks on some of the subjects that I expressed throughout the book. I always thought that it was only me going through certain things in my life but came to realize I wasn't alone. So I hope when one reads the poetry they can find a sense of relief in knowing that they are not crazy and they are not alone.

About the author (2010)

My name is Indian Spice and I love writing. Writing is apart of who I am and it will always remain. I grew up in Camden, New Jersey with my parents Curtis and Ruby Jenkins along with my sisters and my brother. When growing up my father was part of a music group called "Galaxy". Being a little girl, I always wanted to write songs, sing and dance. My father use to have me and my sisters rehearse with him; we were his background singers. It was fun and it stuck with me. I started writing poetry and it gave me the best feeling but the best was when I would recite my words in front of an audience. It's a wonderful feeling.
