About the author (1995)

Chartock is professor of education at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. She taught social studies for fifteen years at Monument Mountain Regional High School in Great Barrington, MA.

Spencer has been part of the Berkshire Hills Regional School system in Great Barrington, MA, for 30 years as a social studies teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent.
