Canada's Subarctic Universities

Front Cover
Association of Canadian Universities for Northern Studies, 1987 - Canada, Northern - 282 pages
There are several universities that concern themselves with giving a particularly northern slant to some of their study programs: Lakehead in Thunder Bay (Ont.), Laurentian University in Sudbury (Ont.), l'Universite du Quebec en Abitibi-Temiscamingue in Rouyn (Que.), and l'Universite du Quebec a Chicoutimi in Chicoutimi (Que.). Recent meetings took place at Laurentian between these four universities to share experiences on education in the North and this report is a collection of papers on individual subjects covering the nature of each university, its setting, problems, and its specialty programs. Also includes a selection of papers representing the "northern" research of each institution.
