About the author (2011)

John McGrath is an executive chef, film critic and author. He has crammed a great deal into his life up until now and his writing is a self-depreciating reflection on a wealth of experience achieved along the way. A man of many passions his approach to living has been one of consumption whether that be feeding his movie addiction, cooking for the rich and famous or indulging his love of mountain life and skiing. Johns first book, Watch this Movie, is a 600 page tome of critical reviews of his 1000 favourite films of all time. More recently he has written, Its All Part of the Alpine Experience, a wry reflection on life as a seasonaire in the worlds most famous ski resort, Chamonix Mont Blanc. Cannes Confidential explores more of his passions, namely fun, films, parties and all things feminine and goes behind the sophisticated facade of the international film festival to take look at what really happens on the French Riviera for 12 days every May.
