The second 2 part story is about an 18 day boat trip from Florida to the US Virgin Islands in a small boat with a single engine.  There are 18 other short stories about boating in the Islands, Interesting people and small adventures.

A couple of stories are about “Daisy” a 9 lbs Poodle and her nautical adventures.  A few stories tell about Capt. Roy as a youngster and his calling to the water life.  These stories include his start on the water at age 11, his independence at age 16 and his Coast Guard enlistment.  Several stories are about the Virgin Islands.

About the author (2005)

Capt. Roy Olsen is an open, friendly and popular man with a wealth of friends. He is a devoted husband, a loving father, a successful businessman, initially in real estate and, for the past 35 years, in the demanding livelihood of tree surgery. He is a United States Coast Guard Boat Captain, a pilot (instruments – land/sea), a retired professional bowler and former president of Nassau Bowling. He was, as well, president of his civic association.

 

Currently, Capt. Olsen is a SCUBA Dive Master with more than 1,000 hours logged underwater, exploring, retrieving, photographing in the wet world that has fascinated him since his boyhood on Great South Bay. He is, as you will discover, a lifelong storyteller.
