About the author (2002)

Georges Bizet was a pianist and composer born on October 2, 1838 in Paris. Bizet wrote Symphony in C but is best known for his classic opera, Carmen. The success of Carmen earned Bizet a Legion of Honor and a 25,000 franc award. Georges Bizet died on June 3, 1875.
