About the author (2002)

Octavio R. Costa nació en Cuba, en 1915. Se graduó de abogado en la Universidad de La Habana. Colaboró en los principales periódicos de Cuba, presidente del Pen Club de Cuba en los años 50, profesor universitario y autor de más de 20 libros de historia y ensayos, lo sitúan entre los principales intelectuales cubanos y uno de sus historiadores más reconocidos. Exiliado desde 1959, reside en Miami. Octavio R. Costa was born in 1915. He graduated from the University of Havana with a Degree in Law. He writes in major newspapers like Diario La Marina, and was also president of the Cuban Pen Club in 1950. Having published over 20 books dealing with historical issues, he is considered one of the most renown cuban contemporary intellectual.
