About the author (2008)

Clare Summerscale has been a full-time professional chess coach for about six years, teaching primary and prep school children.

She is the current British Chess Federation Director of Women's Chess and runs the national All England Girls' Chess Championships. She also runs the National Girls' Team Championships.
