When I identifying a sbc engine there are countless methods but only few that actually tell you what it is and it takes some looking and matching numbers to make sure it is what you think it is. Over 90 million sbc motors were produced since 1955. and there are numerous displacements to consider. Many motors of different displacement used the same castings which make it even more complicated. Gather as many casting numbers on any one motor and cross reference is the best way to find what you have.
