Chip: my life and times
Chip the chipmunk is overheard by the author telling the story of his life and adventures to his grandchildren. He was trapped by humans and put in a cage when he was just five weeks old. For awhile, he was happy being cared for and fed. But he longed to return to the outdoors, and one day escaped his prison. Though, because he had become tame, he had a lot to learn in order to survive in the outdoors once more.
