An excellent book as it answers all the questions about cholesterol that I have wanted answered for years especially why the older generations ate a lot of fatty foods and lived long productive lives. The damage statins are doing by blocking many many things in our bodies that are vital for good health and long lives is explained. I am not a faddist but by losing weight (with a diet that was rich in vegetables and fruit, berry smoothies, with small helpings of meat, fish, eggs, low fat pasta, and weight controlled meals for when I had a lazy day) and bringing wholemeal wholefoods (bread, rice, pasta) olive oil, butter back into my life, eliminating trans fats, the weight has dropped off me. Thanks to Sandra Cabot's book I have learnt many many lessons which I shall carry into my 70's. Actually my cholesterol has gone down of its own accord!! D.R.
