About the author (1982)

William Price Fox (April 9, 1926 - April 19, 2015) was an American novelist who was born in Waukegan, Illinois, and lived in South Carolina most of his life. He graduated from the University of South Carolina and wrote Southern Fried, Moonshine Light, Moonshine Bright, Dixiana Moon, and Doctor Golf. His novels were rich in details from his South Carolina roots. Fox also wrote for USA Today, the Atlantic Monthly, Golf Digest, Golf Illustrated, Golf Magazine, Sports Illustrated, The Saturday Evening Post, Millionaire Magazine, American Heritage, the Los Angeles Times, and the Village Voice, as well as countless other publications. He died on April 19, 2015, at age 89.
