One of the best books I've ever read about gardening. The author really captures the joy and frustrations of our mutual obsession. In addition, Des is master word craftsman as well. It's just a pleasure to read an author who can work so well with the language. Read full review

About the author (1994)

Des Kennedy is an award-winning journalist, broadcaster, author and environmental activist. He has been a columnist for the Globe and Mail and CBC Television. Kennedy is the author of three books of essays and a novel. Two of his books were shortlisted for the Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour. He lives on Denman Island, B.C.
