About the author (2004)

Marshall Chamberlain lives in a small, old beach-house he calls The Writing Rock, located on Estero Island, better known as Fort Myers Beach, FL. Typically he spends Nov-May writing the "Sci-Tech-Mystery-Thrillers" that make up the ANCESTOR SERIES; conducting "Self-Publishing Workshops," "Classes," and "Coaching"; appearing on Radio and TV Shows; and participating at major industry events, shows, fairs, festivals, and conferences. Through his business, THE GRACE PUBLISHING GROUP, he offers consulting services to authors by "Reviewing Books" and facilitating "Promotion Planning" and "Web Site Creation." The rest of the time he packs-up and moves around from one "special spot" to another in Sgt. Browning, his '84 VW Camper, writing and visiting family and friends. Graduate degrees in Earth Science and International Management and Finance provided the backdrop for sixteen years of career in investment banking and small business consulting. Training and combat experience in Viet Nam as a USMC officer and an ongoing search for meaning, are additional chapters in life adding flavor, depth, and authenticity to his fiction writing. Prior to August 15, 1998, when he was led to locate in Fort Myers Beach, he wrote professional research, metaphysical and inspirational articles and memoirs, and dabbled with the novel. And then, literally out of the blue, what has become the ANCESTOR SERIES began spewing from his pen while perusing USA Today at the local library. Like automatic writing, it just wouldn't stop. Creative Self-Publishing in the World Marketplace became a book when Chamberlain put his mind to laying out the Business Plan necessary to successfully self-publish the first book of the ANCESTOR SERIES entitled, The Mountain & The Ice Cap. That book publishing process took eighteen months. Now, "The Mountain" is on a fast track, scheduled for the printer in early 2004. He offers: Free "Self-Publishing Workshops" to Libraries & Bookstores, Writer& Arts Organizations, and Colleges & Universities, and a monthly Newsletter, Tips, Tricks & Scoop.
