About the author (1987)

Dorothy A. Sisk, Ed. D., is a professor at Lamar University, where she serves as the Conn Chair for Gifted Education. She has won numerous awards for distinguished excellence and service in the field of literacy and gifted education. She is the former director of the U.S. Office of Gifted and Talented, and President of the World Council for Gifted and Talented. She serves as a delegation leader for the Citizens Ambassadors Program in Russia, China, Cuba, and Hungary. She is the author of "Creative Teaching of the Gifted" (1987), and co-author of Teaching Gifted in the Regular Classroom, and Spiritual Intelligence: Developing Higher Consciousness, with E. Paul Torrance.
