A free color planning chart covering the Virgin Islands accompanies the 8th edition of the Cruising Guide to the Virgin Islands, published by Cruising Guide Publications. The popular guide also features new full-color sketch charts. They are accompanied by aerial photography of anchorages, harbors and other favorite cruising sites in the islands. These aerial views are helpful for navigational purposes and for selecting choice anchoring locations.

New to the guide is a color section that will aid anglers in fish identification. This section provides readers with color illustrations of popular fish caught in the Virgin Islands. An informative feature on photography in the islands, including underwater photography, provides advice on choosing the best suited equipment and film for taking Caribbean photos. Another interesting article focuses on birdlife in the British Virgin Islands. Other features include pirates of the Caribbean, edible island fruits, windsurfing and sportfishing.

For over a decade this guide has been assisting Virgin Island yachtsmen and vacationers. It also provides revised information on new and improved marina facilities, shoreside resorts, restaurants, shops, diving and snorkeling, provisioning, water safety, customs and a variety of other subjects. The book is broken down into sections, including anchorages of the U.S. Virgin Islands and the British Virgin Islands, all accompanied by dramatic color photography.
