Set in an English middle-class home in the 1930s, Curious Cate, or Handsome Is As Handsome Does is a story about the potential in all people, no matter their outward appearance or public persona. Awkward and somewhat ungainly, Cate, the only girl in the family, finds herself in trouble with her four brothers when she happens to see them playing where they shouldn't be. Things get increasingly difficult for Cate as the boys fall into more trouble, though her great affection for her unruly brothers shines through. Will Cate be able to summon up a hidden skill and rescue the boys from a serious situation?

About the author (2011)

Kenneth Edwards, a retired lawyer, grew up in Reading, Berkshire, England, and now resides in a small village in the County of East Sussex, in a converted barn originally built in 1480. Mr. Edwards is motivated to write by the creative urge to both inform and entertain, and the idea that people have the ability to surprise us by actions that seem totally at odds with their outward appearance and hesitant manner. His stylistic influence for Curious Cate was Hilaire Belloc, an author he read in his youth. Mr.Edwards is currently working on his autobiography, which begins with his earliest recollections as a child in the 1930s, through the WWII, and up to his present life.
