About the author (2003)

Balinda Craig Quijada is director of the dance program at Kenyon College where she teaches modern dance, ballet, dance history, and composition. Prior to Kenyon, she was on the faculty at The Ohio State University Department of Dance from 1998-2000. She received a B.A. in Religion from University of Iowa and an M.F.A. in Dance from The Ohio State University. Her pickup company, BCQ DANCE, is based in Columbus, Ohio, and has received various grants and invitations to perform in joint concerts with companies in Seattle, San Francisco, Oakland, and Chicago, as well as at Ohio State, Kenyon, and Ohio Wesleyan. Craig Quijada performs regularly with Columbus-based HighJinks Dance Company under the direction of Kristina Isabelle. She recently developed a CD-ROM, "Introduction to Les Ballets Russes," for use as a teaching tool for dance history classes. Craig-Quijada is currently a board member of the American College Dance Festival Association.
