About the author (2009)

Kwei-lin Lum is a California artist who communicates in a variety of visual languages. Fascinated with nature as a child, she went on to study biogeography in college. This is her first project for Dover — she spent significant time studying Mexican culture to ensure that each doll was completely authentic.
