Harry Sylvester, a graduate of Notre Dame (played football for Knute Rockne), was a popular novelist in the 1940s and '50s, and also wrote for many publications including Colliers, Scribners, America and Commonweal. His other novels include Dearly Beloved and Moon Gaffney.
