If you would have read "Waters Dark and Deep" you would've discovered that an Army Officer actually took care of these 6 "babies" for 4 hours at the intersection of I-10 and Causeway Blvd before asking a news reporter to gather as much information as possible from the oldest, child who knew only his name and the names of the other children. Once the news reporter had interrogated Demote, the Army officer asked her to accompany the children in the ambulance so that he could hand them off to the paramedics in the ambulance. The news reporter was told by the Army officer to "stay with these children and make sure you let everyone know all the information you have obtained so that the children stay together and have the best chance at reunification with their parents.
