Deepening the Welcome: Equipping the Christian Hospitality Vision Team Members of the Concord Baptist Church of Christ in the Ancient Practice and Contemporary Planning of Christian Hospitality
A lay advisory committee was recruited to help guide and support the project. A Concord Hospitality Vision Team (a group of members recruited primarily from within the ranks of the church's ushers, greeters and hospitality ministry groups) was formed. I researched, developed and taught a Bible Study Series entitled, "Deepening the Welcome: the Practices of Christian Hospitality at the Concord Baptist Church of Christ." The project culminated in a half-day retreat for the team members during which they reflected upon the new theological, biblical, practical, and contemporary contextual perspectives learned through the series. They used these reflections to inform and shape a new approach to the church's ministry of Christian hospitality.
