Delicious Desserts: Sweet Treats from the Premier Children's Cooking School
"The only thing kids love more than a platter full of gooey homemade cookies is actually getting their little hands in the flour-and-sugar act right alongside Mom or Dad." So says Barbara Beery, founder and instructor at the Batter Up Kids children's cooking school in Austin, Texas. Beery opened the tremendously successful school more than a decade ago, and she has been helping children develop a love of cooking, food, and learning ever since. Her new book Batter Up Kids: Delicious Desserts features deliciously simple recipes for a variety of treats that any kid can make for any occasion! From Stack'em High Strawberry Shortcakes to Candy-Coated Dragonflies to Thumbs-Up Peanut Butter and Jelly Cookies, this innovative kid's cookbook is loaded with sweet treats, healthy fruit-based snacks, and traditional cake and cookie desserts that are perfect for birthday parties, holidays, Valentine's Day treats, and more. With easy-to-follow, illustrated instructions, plus an easy-clean, wipe-off cover and pages, kids everywhere will become culinary experts with Barbara Beery at their sides!
Barbara Beery combined her natural talents for cooking and teaching to create Batter Up Kids, a children's cooking school, in 1991. She has a bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Texas, and spent thirteen years teaching second and third grades as well as pre-school children, ages three to five years.
