About the author (1993)

Fisher is the Executive Director of the Mid-South Quality and Productivity Center. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Tennessee Quality Award and serves on the Board of Judges of the International Who's Who in Quality.

Horine is a faculty member in the Department of Educational Leadership at the University of Mississippi. She is a two-year veteran of the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award Board of examiners and a national speaker on the application of the Baldridge Award criteria to Education.

Carlisle owns Carlisle Communications, a consulting management and marketing firm. Serving as the past president of a multi-million dollar company, she built a business of quick-service restaurants, hotels, and retail chains.

Williford, a consultant, successfully helped demystify the Malcolm Baldridge application. He has worked closely with many CEO's across the nation.

JOEL I. GERSTEN, PhD, and FREDERICK W. SMITH, PhD, are professors in the Department of Physics at The City College of the City University of New York.
