Stories and analogies between a fictional cookie business and the adage about putting all the parts of an elephant (business) together are utilized throughout the book to illustrate key points.

About the author (2005)

Ettie Gordon has extensive experience in process equipment industries. He retired from Hosokawa Micron International, Inc., where he was president of the Product Recovery Group. At Hosokawa he also served as president of the Americas and president of Hosokawa Bepex in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Previously, he was president and CEO of AquaAir, Inc., a vice-president of Ingersoll-Rand, and president of CPM, a division of Ingersoll-Rand.
