About the author (2007)

Author Karen Stickels spent 20 years in the hearth industry as a technical consultant for the nation s largest chimney supply wholesaler, which also manufactures chimney liners. She advised installers, wrote installation instructions, managed her company s Underwriters Laboratories listings, and was part of an editing team for two hearth-related educational manuals. She currently works in the marketing department at Harper Brush Works, Inc., and spends time with her husband, Vic, and her daughter Jennifer, son-in-law Scott, and grandson Skye at her Iowa home.
