This edited volume by D. Panduranga Rao is based on the deliberations of an International Seminar held in September 1988 at Visakhapatnam. The Seminar was attended by eminent scholars and intellecturals from India, USA, UK, New Zealand, Italy, Sri Lanka and Indonesia. The book contains thirty contributions of experts and also lectures given by them in Technical Sessions. The deliberations of the seminar are rich due to the involvement of transport personalia representing different fields and their recommendatiosn are purposeful and would interest policy framers.
