About the author (2006)

John Malman has written more than 150 books for children, on subjects ranging from Egyptian mummies to architecture. He has also written several books on dinosaurs and prehistoric life. His books for DK include e.explore Dinosaur and Megabites Titanic and Gladiator.

Consultant - Michael Benton is head of earth sciences at the University of Bristol. He was a consultant on the BBC's landmark television series Walking with Dinosaurs.
