About the author (2009)

Larissa Lando was born in the Soviet Union (now Russia) and in 1978 she migrated to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She studied a degree in Film Theory, History and Criticism in the Moscu School of Film. For 25 years, she has been part of the faculty of the Arts Department in the Universidad Autnoma de Santo Domingo. During the last 10 years she has also taught in the Fashion Department of the university. This is her second book about fashion and it was born due to the necessity of preparing professionals in this competitive industry.
