About the author (1999)

Plaut is a noted asthma expert and author. He graduated from Yale with a degree in history, received his medical degree from Columbia University and his pediatric training at New York University-Bellevue Medical Center. He practiced pediatrics for 24 years in Appalacia, the South Bronx and in Massachusetts before founding Asthma Consultants in 1988.

Jones is a science and medical writer who has collaborated with Dr. Plaut for six years. She teaches college biology, genetics, and environmental science. She graduated from Yale University with degrees in environmental studies and history and received her Master's degree in plant biology from the University of Massachusetts.
