PURPOSE of Dreams and Visions (from Roger)
The purpose and intent of this book is actually very simple. It is to perhaps convince a few more people to follow the living Prophet a little more closely, and to prepare themselves and their families for the events which lie in the (near?) future by preparing Spiritually (getting temple recommends and using them often), Physically (obtain a minimum one year supply of food, clothing, shelter and other necessities), and Mentally. And as part of this preparation to perhaps come to understand some of the events that they will likely have to pass through. Elder Oaks recently in the April 2004 General Conference encouraged all members of the Church throughout the world to "accelerate our own preparation and try to influence the preparation of those around us." This is a small effort to comply with that counsel.

I found this to be a fascinating collection of quotes, prophecies and dreams/visions from LDS (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) leaders and LDS lay members on the last days and what to do to prepare for them.
Many of the dreams, as dreams often are, should be read and understood as symbolism. Oftentimes the dreams were probably only meant for the receiver. Perhaps some of the dreams given to lay members should have remained with the individual and not shared. Some of them probably are not inspired, but come from the fearful subconscious of those affected by worries for the last days.
So the books should be read with the guidance of the Holy Ghost, which can teach you truth and keep you in the right way. Pray before reading, so that you will remain unsullied from any error, and benefited from any truth found within.
