The story of John Earthfont's life, from adolescence to manhood. John comes of age in the midst of divergent and dynamic forces, both old and new. His father leaves his family when John is fourteen, maintaining infrequent contact with John's sister, but not John. Earthfont chronicles his angst, rage, and attachment disorder over this desertion. He has no clearly defined enemies or battles to fight and there are no more untamed frontiers for him to conquer. Unhappy and disillusioned, he ultimately ends up killing a man. This is the story of his life and his search for redemption.
