About the author (2001)

Howe is a veteran of WWII. In addition to years as a high-tech salesman, he has been a school teacher, builder, farmer, and woodsman. In his fifties, he and his wife carved a homestead and farm out of a wilderness and lived much as did the early settlers in Maine.
