Memoirs of a Jew, born in 1929 as Ruth Oppenheimer in Fränkisch-Crumbach. Pp. 35-74 deal with the Holocaust period. The family had plans to emigrate to Argentina, but these did not materialize. After the "Kristallnacht" pogrom they moved to Mannheim. In 1939, when the situation of the Jews continued to deteriorate, Ruth was sent with a children's transport to England, where she was placed in a home for Jewish children until the end of the war. Her parents were deported to Auschwitz; they did not survive, but her brothers and sisters did.
