About the author (2008)

Janice Gow Pettey, CFRE, MNM, is the Principal of J.G. Pettey & Associates, a consulting firm serving foundations and nonprofits. She is a frequent speaker on the topics of diversity and ethics and has presented to over fifty organizations nationally and internationally. She is the author of the award-winning book, Cultivating Diversity in Fundraising (Wiley). Her lengthy nonprofit career also includes work with the American Red Cross, United Way, YMCA, and the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce. Janice is also an adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco where she has taught courses in fundraising and strategic planning for many years. Sheis the current chair of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP)International Ethics Committee and has served on the committee for seven years.
