About the author (2012)

Mary Jo Amani writes poetry and children's books. She is founder of Librospara Ninos/Books for Kids Africa, a non-profit organization that promotes the joy of reading in Nicaragua and Mozambique. She divides her time between North Carolina and Mozambique.
