Welcome to the world of teenage fashion dolls from the viewpoint of the Ideal Toy Company of the United States and the Reliable Toy Company of Canada. Here you will find a personal love for the Ideal fashion doll, Mitzi, and a discovery of the Reliable counterpart, as a result! Amusing walks through the past bring fashion doll memories to life.
With the help of the internet, friends, a personal collection, and a decent camera, the author has assembled an extensive pictoral view of not only identifying the Mitzi doll on two areas of North America, but differentiations among the dolls themselves, from a messy-lipped doll to a pristine example, hairstyles and stands, a Marilyn Monroe look to a country girl appearance!
Share with Ms. Bjorkman as she walks you through a collection of dolls to help you find your youth again, and your collecting enjoyment!
Born and raised in Michigan, the author has had a lifelong love affair with dolls. From the early days of childhood to adulthood, on both sides of the Atlantic, the author has an exposure to a multitude of dolls of various makes and age. Between her mother, her sisters, and herself, the parade of dolls has been vast. But the love has been constant.
Especially for the teenage fashion dolls.
Living overseas during the 80's, Ms. Bjorkman saw a difference in doll appraisal concepts between the homeland and abroad. But with the collecting of dolls, she has also made friendships that transcend distance and time.
Ms. Bjorkman looks forward to hearing from readers on the subject matter of the Mitzi doll and making even more friends. Please feel free to email her at CJMar1@yahoo.com.
