Steidl, 1997 - Photography - 173 pages
Time passes and magazines come and go. But certain images endure, imprinted somewhere in our memory. At the end of each year, "Fashion Images de Mode" archives these extraordinary images and saves the outstanding work of the previous seasons. This year's edition features the most striking and original photos that were taken by photographers like Jean-Paul Goude, Nick Knight, David LaChapelle, Inez van Lamsweerde, Peter Lindbergh, Craig McDean, Helmut Newton, Paolo Roversi, Mario Testino, and Ellen von Unwerth. 260 color photos.

About the author (1997)

Lisa Lovatt-Smith began her career in magazine publishing at the tender age of eighteen. After winning a writing contest she began working as an intern for British "Vogue". At nineteen she became the youngest photo editor in Conde Nast history, thanks in part to Anna Wintour, who saw Lisa s potential early on. In 2002, after years of working in fashion, Lisa left everything behind to open up an orphanage in Ghana. Since then, she has continued her humanitarian efforts, using her connections in the fashion industry to raise awareness and spread her message. Today, Lisa lives in a mud hut in Ghana, where she runs her organization OrphanAid Africa.
