About the author (2006)

David Picard has been trained as an anthropologist (PhD in 2001, University of La Reunion, France) and is currently working as a research fellow at the Centre for Tourism and Cultural Change at Sheffield Hallam University, United Kingdom. His interests focus on the cultural economics of international tourism, especially spaces and forms of exchange between hosts and guests.

Mike Robinson is Professor of Tourism Studies at Sheffield Hallam University, UK and Director of the Centre for Tourism and Cultural Change.
