About the author (2012)

Mahmoud Tarokh was born in Iran, He came to the United states as exchange student for Iranian navy, in 1977 he graduated from The Citadel military college of SC. he left the country to serve as a naval officer in Iranian navy.Iranian revolution stared during his return and joining the Navy. He and his family escape the new regime and reside in Charleston, SC they are living there for the last 37 years . Mahmoud has a unique perspective and draws subject matter from his experiences as a father of three boys, husband and military officer. He is deeply spiritual and taking the road of living in different angels .the uniqueness of his thinking process forced him to write his first book field of poppies . his believes in happiness in life and after taking him to different mine set that consider to be different and to be truth. Field of poppies is the collection of life time experience of a young foreign man living and surviving all the diffences that engage him as a abused child, as a foreigner, as a writer and as a family man, he always sees himself like a basketball coach that sees the players mistake from the sideline.
