Lynn V. Foster is an independent writer and scholar. Peter Mathews is Professor of Archaeology at La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia.

Foster, who has a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania, is the chairman of the Philosophy Department at the University of Massachusetts in Boston.
