About the author (2001)

Belinda Martineau, Ph.D. has been granted patents for four inventions with genetically engineered components. She earned her bachelor's degree in biology from Harvard University and her doctorate in genetics from UC Berkeley. Prior to joining Calgene, Inc., in 1988, she was a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Molecular Genetics and Cell Biology at the University of Chicago.
