This sets a fantastic moral example for children about striving to be what you want to be, rather than what others have labelled you as.
It also teaches a valuable lesson to children who may bully
by calling names or making fun of others: that they have their own flaws, and probably wouldn't like those to be exposed and laughed at.
These morals and lessons are woven beautifully through a story with exhilarating highs and tear-jerking lows, rendering all readers (and in the case of the very young: listen & lookers) completely spellbound throughout.
This will forever be a classic to me, and I believe all children would benefit from either reading this book, or having it read to them - with a different funny voice for each character!
