About the author (2010)

Lia Leendertz writes about gardening for theGuardian'sWeekendmagazine. She is the author of several books, includingThe Half-hour AllotmentandConservatory and Greenhouse Gardening, and she studied horticulture at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh. Lia lives in Bristol and has an 80-ft garden and an allotment and is on the residents' committee of her local park.
