On page 344 it says "in 1681 the will of Cornelis van Nes and Maritje Damen both deceased is administered by...." This is a stark error. The record of 7 July 1681 (Ear;y records of the city and county of Albany, Rensselaer and Schenectady) Pertains to heirs of deceased Maretje Damen and attorneys for Cornelis van Ness namely his sons Hendrick and Gerrit van Ness and goes on to stipulate..... that within 8 days Cornelis van Nes will surrender possession of entire estate,... giving him a proper outfit of clothin, bed and bolster, his bible and ropemaking tools, and he reserves his real estate possed by him before his marriage..." and refers to effects of their will 29 April 1677.
In fact the later documents about the division of the estate to March 4, 1686/7 do not name Cornelis van Nes as deceased.
