About the author (2010)

Dr. Dana Sparkman has devoted her career to the education of teachers. Dr. Sparkman earned her Ph.D. with a major in Elementary Education, from the University of Alabama. As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Teaching and Learning at Georgia Southern University, Dr. Sparkman taught a full range of mathematics courses for future teachers. She has been a member of the Georgia Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the Georgia Educational Research Association.

Dr. Sparkman is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the National School Science and Mathematics Association. She often presents papers at international and national conferences. A recent family move has brought her to the University of West Alabama, where she is an Assistant Professor of Elementary Education.
