About the author (1992)

Sue A. Ferguson, who grew up with glaciers in her "backyard" is a member of the International Glaciological Society and holds a Ph.D. in geophysics from the University of Washington. Currently, she is a meteorologist with the Forest Service Northwest Avalanche Center and lives in Seattle, Washington.
